You'll also find our staff bios there. Each member of our staff has many years of experience that they bring to your personal project.
You Want it When?

When undertaking a decorating project, it's always good to give yourself enough time to accommodate all the details that always seem to pop up. When ordering fabric, for example, you want to plan in enough time to order a "cutting for approval". This is when we order you a snip of fabric off the actual bolt that will be used for your project. This extra step ensures that dye lots are accurate to the sample you found in the showroom and verifies the pattern numbers are correct.

Here is a breakdown of some common ordering times:
  • Window Measure - 5 to 7 days to schedule with the installer.

  • Blinds and Shades - 7 to 14 days to fabricate and ship.

  • Fabrics and Trims - Once cutting is approved (7 to 10 days), fabrics stocked in the US take 7 to 10 days to ship. Fabrics stocked in Europe typically take 3 to 4 weeks.

  • Decorative Hardware - 5 to 10 days, depending upon where they are stocked.

  • Workroom Services - 8 to 10 weeks, keep in mind that workrooms are busiest during the holiday season and turn around can be even longer.

Refresh, Refinish... Why Remodel?

Not all kitchens need a total remodel; many times a little facelift is just the ticket to breathe new life into the room. Sometimes you can simply freshen up the cabinets and Daly's can help. If your cabinets are in good shape, just a little dingy and tired-looking (maybe a little outdated, even), consider these steps to give you a new look at a fraction of the cost!
  • Clean off grime and finger oils with a lint-free cloth and Paint Thinner (do not confuse Paint Thinner with Lacquer Thinner, by the way!)

  • Apply Daly's BenMatte with a lint-free cloth. This is a tung-oil finish that will create a low-luster oil-rubbed look. BenMatte resists fading and damage by water, alcohol, scratches and abrasions.

  • Update old cabinet pulls and knobs with new decorative hardware. Easy! Daly's now carries a full line of decorative hardware - styles range from classic Arts & Crafts to sleek and contemporary. New hardware on your cabinets can change the way the whole room feels, and it's easy to do yourself!

  • Last but not least - Repaint the walls in a rich color to accent the cabinets and give the room a whole new look.

Get Ready for Summer Sun and BBQs

Is your deck ready summer ready? We've developed a 3-step program to get your deck BBQ ready!
  1. Daly's Deck and House Cleaner - This cleaner removes all the grime and sludge that may have sprouted up during our wet winter. It's easy to apply, then agitate the surface with a push broom and hose off. No power washing necessary. You can even do this step in the rain, if you are so motivated!

  2. Daly's Wood Brightener - If your deck surface is looking a little aged and grey, Wood Brightener will restore the appearance of the wood. This is especially nice when you are repairing a deck and you are trying to blend older existing wood with newer wood. Plus by using Wood Brightener, the stain you'll apply on top will have the best clarity of color.

  3. Daly's Deckstain - Available in 12 colors, including Clear, Daly's Deckstain is a penetrating finish that "feeds" the thirsty wood while adding a semi-transparent color. This allows the wood grain to show, giving you an ideal surface for all those BBQ parties this summer! Note that it's best to wait one or two dry days after you wash and brighten the deck to apply the stain.
One reason we like semi-transparent Deckstain is that you are able to see the grain of the wood. Another is that the maintenance and upkeep is so simple. Because Deckstain is a penetrating stain, is simply wears off over time. Conversely, solid stains sit on the surface of the deck, and as they age they tend to chip and peel. Not a pretty sight.

With semi-transparent stain, you wash the deck and reapply the stain, typically only every other year. No stripping, sanding or scraping required. How easy is that?

Daly's Tip for June - Here Comes the Sun!

When working on the exterior of your house, do not work in the direct sunlight. Instead, work around the sun, either before or after. Why? Direct sunlight heats up the surface too much. With the heat from both underneath and coming form above, paint can blister quite easily. Plus, stain tends to dry too fast and you are then left with unsightly lap marks.

Your best bet is to work around the sun. Not only will you avoid these problems, but you will keep cooler too!
