Color Trends for 2006:
Colors for 2006 will be warmer, brighter, and more complex. Reddened orange will replace coppery hues while yellows will gain importance. Blues will dramatically recede and complex neutrals will add sophistication and luxury.
For the home, the following colors are outstanding choices for the New Year:
 | RED still dominates. Reddened oranges bring in the accent of Asia and India. See the reds in the C2 line such as Bang!, Love at First Bite or the ever popular Infrared.

| METALLIC is adding lightness and warmth and helps brighten spaces. Silver and gold are HOT! Gold adds luxury and silver hints of the future. Modern Masters has a wide selection of colors and sheens.

| TEAL is in bringing with it naturalness and adding balance. C2 has Inuvik Ice or Bluegrass and Pratt & Lambert offers Oat grass, Always Smooth, or Briny Deep.

| GRAY adds mystery. C2 offers Monday Morning, Pavement, or Artesian.

| BLUE brings surprise and luminosity. C2 offers Kauai, Major Tom, Windsor, or Electric.
|
| ORANGE offers movement and flexibility. Cognac, Tortoise, and Kasbah are upbeat and modern in the C2 line.

| REDDISH BROWN uses rare dyes and the look of used wood for ultra wealth! C2 Chipolte and Alhambra are superb choices for this field. |
New finishes on the market:
Recently a new decorative architectural coating came onto the market. Q) I have a large room that is both our living and dining room. Is there a way I can use color on the walls to define my spaces?
A) Many modern floor plans share common walls from room to room, so one space blends in with another and it can be difficult to delineate them as unique spaces.
My guess is that most of your living/dining room is painted with a neutral color, so why not add a colorful splash of excitement in the dining area on the short wall? Called color-blocking, it helps define the spaces as separate areas and adds an interesting visual touch to the room.
Another idea to use in conjunction with the accent color is to add a 3 or 5 panel folding screen, depending on the size of the room. They come in a variety of sizes, colors and finishes and they are very flexible.

Tips & Tricks:
Modern Masters Metallic Paint, an easy do-it-yourself finish! Unlike other metallic paint, Modern Masters applies like an ordinary latex paint. You can apply it by brushing, spraying, or rolling it on. If spraying it on you should use a HVLP spray gun. Since it is water based, cleanup is simple and there is no irritating odor.
